City of Pflugerville employees enjoy three (3) weeks of paid vacation along with 14 paid holidays a year, an attractive retirement plan where the City puts in 2 dollars for every 1 dollar you put into retirement, and the possibility to work from home As a Utility Maintenance Technician I/II/III for the City, you will be responsible for effectively maintaining all related facilities/equipment in the water and wastewater system and related grounds. Utility Maintenance Technician I $34,665 - $44,198 Essential duties and responsibilities include: Operates, inspects, repairs, and maintains lift stations, water pump stations, and water and wastewater treatment plant facilities by daily inspections. Help develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize breakdowns and repairs. Maintains and prepares maintenance logs and inspection sheets. Maintain tools and equipment in safe and effective operating conditions. Maintain the City's utility system by performing maintenance and repairs of pumps and motors and the proper operation of the equipment required to perform duties during normal hours and emergency hours. Qualifications and Skill Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum 1-year experience maintaining water and wastewater facilities and systems. Class C Water Certificate or Class C Wastewater Certificate. Utility Maintenance Technician II $38,218 - $48,728 Essential duties and responsibilities include: Operates, inspects, repairs, and maintains lift stations, water pump stations, and water and wastewater treatment plant facilities by daily inspections. Help develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize breakdowns and repairs. Maintains and prepares maintenance logs and inspection sheets as well as provides on-call assistance and responds to maintenance emergencies 24/7. Maintain tools and equipment in safe and effective operating conditions. Maintain the City's utility system by performing maintenance and repairs of pumps and motors and the proper operation of the equipment required to perform duties during normal hours and emergency hours. Qualifications and Skill Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum 1-year experience maintaining water and wastewater facilities and systems. Class C Water Certificate or Class C Wastewater Certificate; Valid Class C Texas driver's license and the ability to obtain Class B commercial driver's license within 6 months. Utility Maintenance Technician III $44,242 - $56,409 Essential duties and responsibilities include: Operates, maintains repairs, replaces, modifies, re-designs, and upgrades the water pump stations and the wastewater lift stations and related equipment including wet wells, wells, storage tanks, pumps, mechanical/electrical controls, and SCADA monitoring systems. Inspects, repairs, replaces, modifies, re-designs maintains, and upgrades the City's water and wastewater plants and related equipment including tanks, piping, pumps, mechanical/electrical controls, emergency equipment, valves, air compressors, monitoring sensors, and SCADA monitoring system. Help develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize breakdowns and repairs. Maintains and prepares maintenance logs and inspection sheets as well as provides on-call assistance and responds to maintenance emergencies 24/7. Maintaining the water and wastewater system by removing the pump and motor using a crane truck or other recommended lifting equipment during regular operation hours or emergency situations. Qualifications and Skill Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent. 4 years of experience maintaining water and wastewater facilities and systems. Class B Water Certificate or Class B Wastewater Certificate. Valid Class C Texas driver's license and the ability to obtain Class B commercial Texas driver's license within 6 months. Benefits Overview: Flexible scheduling and the opportunity to work from home. 10 hours of vacation leave per month, 3 weeks per year. 8 hours of sick leave per month, 12 days per year. Sick leave incentive pay- Employees are compensated in December each year in the amount of 25% of their unused sick leave that they have accumulated during the preceding fiscal year. Medical insurance and benefits are provided at zero premium cost to the employee. 50% dependent health benefits premium contribution. Dental benefits are provided at zero premium cost to the employee. 24 hours of paid personal holiday leave each fiscal year. 10 wellness hours each fiscal year for eligible preventive and mental health services. Longevity pay of $8 per month beginning with the first anniversary and will be paid on a separate paycheck in December of each year. Retirement plan includes a 7% contribution of an employee's gross salary to the Texas Municipal Retirement System (TMRS) with a City contribution match of 2 to 1 (14%) at retirement. Retirement eligibility requires 5 years of service at age 60 or 20 years of service at any age. Employees also have an additional retirement fund option to participate in a 457 plan. Long-Term Disability is employer-paid and covers 60% of the employee's salary up to $7,500. Military leave provides up to 15 days of paid leave per fiscal year for eligible employees. Education reimbursement assistance up to $2,000 per fiscal year. Employer-paid basic term life insurance policy two (2) times an employee's base salary, up to $325,000 maximum. 40 paid service hours are available to volunteer within our community. Up to 160 hours of paid parental leave to eligible employees following the birth of an employee's child or the placement of a child with an employee in connection with adoption, foster care, or other legal placement to care for and bond with the child.
