Jackalope Studio in Austin is responsible for the development of
entertaining land-based slot machines. The studio is part of
Bluberi's R&D department, which includes other development
teams in the US and Canada. Our game development team is comprised
of enthusiastic and experienced professionals across multiple
disciplines including mathematics, visual arts, software
engineering, game design, audio engineering, and quality assurance.
We work in a hybrid model to ensure effective iteration of creative
content on target hardware while providing personal flexibility and
work efficiency. Summary Bluberi is seeking a highly motivated
individual who has a passion for mathematics and slot machines to
be part of Jackalope Studio in Austin, Texas. The Mathematician II
supports a team of developers and artists producing video casino
games by creating fresh game content and iterating on current
gameplay formulas, to deliver high-quality, captivating, and
performing games. Essential Functions Creation and validation of
game math and supporting tools Independently develop math models
for different markets, including, but not limited to Class III,
Class II. Review outcomes for all game-specific metrics and adjust
models as needed to hit targets. Ensure parity of model and game
experience across different markets. Guide proper implementation of
math into game builds and systems through clear documentation and
discussions. Participate in continuous improvements to math
processes. Provide solutions that increase game functionality and
design capabilities. Complete required documentation for
certification labs and operators. Responsible for quick and
accurate responses to field issues on games released by their
studio. Independently develop in-house simulations and theoretical
calculations. Assist other mathematicians by evaluating math
outcomes, scripts, and proofs for games at any stage of conception
and development. Use existing math tools competently to generate
math files. Support new complex game mechanics by developing or
evolving tools, such as Office extensions and WPF applications.
Participate in strategic planning to expand tool capabilities and
define functional requirements. Active participation in game design
Lead idea generation and conceptualization efforts. Contribute to
game design efforts for complex games. Responsible for creating and
evaluating math proofs early in design that validate feasibility.
Evaluate game design to ensure all points (features, frequencies,
etc.) are cohesive with an exciting math model given system,
mathematical, and jurisdictional restraints. Recommend creative
solutions to detected issues. Regularly review games in development
and provide feedback at milestones. Demonstrate expert knowledge of
current and past products. Lead competitive market research to
inform game design and implementations. Work environment Quiet and

experience Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or Statistics or
relevant experience in lieu. Demonstrated knowledge and application
of Combinatorics, Probability Theory and Statistics. 3 years’
experience with game development. Advanced knowledge of the casino
gaming industry Demonstrated proficiency with C#, WPF and .NET
Core/.NET. Competent with version control systems, such as Git and
SVN. Advanced Excel skills, able to create and adapt large and
complex spreadsheets. Good verbal and written communication skills.
Can modulate information to different development domains.
Demonstrates effective presentation skills. Strong people skills.
Must work well with creative conflict in a consensus-based,
collaborative environment. Shows dedication to continuous learning
