Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 03/23/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, days - Employment Type: Travel RN Position Job Notes: Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2 years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available. Opportunity: RN - PICU Job Details: • 12-hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM • Must have ventilator and pediatric ICU experience required • Full-time position with temp to perm possibility • Must attend New Nurses Orientation within first 30 days of hire • Precepted by designated trained staff member during onboarding • Required certifications: Current BLS (AHA only), ACLS (AHA only), PALS (AHA only) • Texas RN license or compact license required • Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred • 1 year of related nursing specialty experience preferred • Provide routine and complex care for pediatric ICU patients • Administer medications and treatments using appropriate protocols • Monitor for side effects and treatment effectiveness • Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided • Assess learning needs and provide education to patients and families • Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers • Complete annual competency verification requirements • Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families Facility: This children's hospital specializes in comprehensive pediatric care and operates a dedicated pediatric intensive care unit.
