St. David's Medical Center! Job Summary and Qualifications As the
Infection Prevention Coordinator, you will be working with the
Director of Infection Prevention to coordinate surveillance and
Infection Prevention. You will be working to reduce the risk of
endemic and epidemic hospital-acquired infection in patients,
visitors and health care workers.
- You will conduct surveillance, epidemiological studies and
investigations under the supervision of the Director of Infection
Prevention
- You will collect and interpret data related to Infection
prevention and conduct data entry
- You will use data to drive performance improvement activities
to reduce infection risk
- You will work to set priorities and make decisions regarding
infection prevention practices
- You will work alongside Infection Prevention staff and other
departments to develop and/or update policies and procedures
- You will participate on the Infection Prevention Committee and
in various quality projects
- You will coordinate and develop training and education programs
for staff and other hospital professionals
- You will regularly communicate with public, physicians, staff,
patients, administration and ancillary/support department
personnelRequirementsExperience
- 3 years of experience of hospital based clinical
experience
- Previous infection prevention and control experience
preferredEducation
- Associates Degree in health related field
- Bachelors of Science in Nursing preferredLicensees and
Certifications
- Certification in Infection Control (CIC) required within 2
years of hire
- Certification by the Board of Infection Control (CBIC)
