dedicated Medical Surgical LVN like you to be a part of our
team.Job SummaryResponsible for providing nursing care to patients
with minor to major illnesses or injuries. The LVN functions under
the direction of the registered nurse. The LVN supervises
non-licensed personnel.Job Summary and Qualifications1. Perform
complete and accurate nursing assessment on assigned patients.a.
Completes designated portion of the admission interview accurately
within two hours of patient admission.b. Performs and documents
patient routine patient assessment completely and accurately per
shift, or more frequently, as indicated by patient condition.c.
Confers with RN regarding complex assessments, changes in patient
condition, diagnostic results, non-routine situations, and before
calling a physician.d. Contributes to the assessment of educational
and discharge needs.2. Follows plan of care initiated by an RN.a.
Updates nursing care plan every 24 hours.b. Contributes to the plan
of care and discharge plan.3. Provides and documents skilled care
to assigned patients within the LVN scope of practice and in
compliance with hospital policies and procedures.a. Performs and
documents nursing care according to patient needs in a competent
and timely manner.b. Accurately administers and documents
medications within 60 minutes of indicated time or as patient
condition warrants.c. Performs routine or standardized teaching
under direction of an RN.d. Carries out appropriate interventions
based on identified changes in patient conditionSt. David's Medical

setting PreferredEducationGraduate from an accredited nursing
program with an Associate's degree in vocational nursingLicense and
CertificationsCurrently licensed as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in
the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in
accordance with law and regulation.Basic Life Support (BLS)
required as per St. David's Healthcare policyRequirementsRequired:
Graduate of LVN programPreferred: Previous experience in clinical
nursing preferred. Computer skills preferred.LICENSES AND
CERTIFICATES:Required: Texas LVN license; BLS certification
required as per St. David's HealthCare policy.Preferred: None
