the Opportunity: Saratech is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME)
to join our team as a Senior Aerodynamics & Aircraft Performance
Engineer. This role is focused on performing high-level aerodynamic
analysis and providing ground and flight test support for
fixed-wing and rotary aircraft. You will evaluate the impact of
aircraft modifications on vehicle performance and aerodynamic
loads, ensuring mission success for critical national security and
defense projects. Salary Range: $85-$110 per hour Key
Responsibilities: Perform steady-state and time-accurate
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) analyses. Plan, support, and
execute Wind Tunnel Tests and aerodynamic design optimization
studies. Perform comparative analyses of predicted aerodynamics
against experimental and/or flight test data. Lead the development
and enhancement of internal methods and engineering tools. Manage
large, complex project initiatives with minimal oversight,
influencing practices and processes across the organization.
Provide technical input into new products and implement operational
plans that impact functional business results. Communicate complex
technical findings to stakeholders both within and outside the
organization. Qualifications: Education & Experience: * Bachelor's
Degree (BSME or BSAE) with a minimum of 9 years of prior relevant
experience. OR a Graduate Degree (MSME or MSAE) with a minimum of 7
years of prior experience. OR 13 years of prior related experience
in lieu of a degree. Technical Expertise: Minimum 2 years of
experience in CFD analyses, mesh generation, and post-processing.
Minimum 2 years of experience in wind tunnel testing. Minimum 2
years of experience with aircraft performance analysis. Strong
understanding of Applied Aerodynamics theory and numerical methods.
Requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizen. Ability to obtain and
maintain a SECRET security clearance. Willingness to travel and
work flexible shifts/overtime as required. Preferred Additional
Skills: Experience with Pointwise, NASA FUN3D, and FieldView.
Experience with store separation analyses and testing. Familiarity
with civil and military airworthiness requirements. Proficiency in
Matlab/Simulink. High-performance computing (HPC) administration.
Experience in aircraft stability and control analysis. Strong
verbal and written communication skills and proficiency in
Microsoft Office. Physical Demands: The physical demands described
here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to
successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must be
able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time. Constantly
operates a computer and other office productivity machinery. The
person in this position frequently communicates with other staff
and clients; must be able to exchange accurate information.
