alumni. Job Description The Career and Technical Education (CTE)
Curriculum Specialist will serve as a key instructional leader
supporting high-quality CTE curriculum, instruction, and assessment
across KIPP Texas schools. This role will collaborate with
teachers, school leaders, and regional academic teams to ensure
alignment between CTE programs of study and industry expectations,
certifications, and postsecondary pathways. The CTE Curriculum
Specialist helps further the mission of KIPP Texas Public Schools
by equipping students with the knowledge and skills necessary to
thrive in college, careers, and beyond. RESPONSIBILITIES AND
DUTIES: The Career and Technical Education Curriculum Specialist
will: 1. Instructional Coaching and Support: Provide coaching and
support to CTE teachers across programs of study, with a focus on
instructional planning, content delivery, and industry-based
certification preparation. Offer meetings, planning sessions, and
classroom-based support to ensure strong alignment between
curriculum, TEKS, and industry standards. Model instructional
strategies and deliver sample lessons to build teacher capacity.
Provide feedback on lesson plans, unit designs, and assessments to
support high-quality instruction. 2. Curriculum Development and
Alignment: Collaborate with teachers and regional academic teams to
refine and align CTE curriculum to TEKS, industry-based
certification standards, and college and career readiness
expectations. Ensure curricular resources reflect current industry
practices, support rigorous skill development, and promote career
exploration. Develop instructional tools, project-based learning
tasks, and scope and sequences for CTE pathways. 3. Data-Driven
Improvement: Analyze student achievement data, certification
results, and course outcomes to identify instructional strengths
and gaps. Use data to inform professional development needs and
coaching priorities. Monitor implementation fidelity and make
recommendations to improve instructional outcomes across campuses.
4. Professional Development: Design and facilitate high-impact
professional development for CTE teachers focused on best practices
in instructional planning, technical skill development, and student
engagement. Contribute to monthly newsletters, webinars, and
learning series that highlight exemplar instruction and celebrate
teacher success. Provide training and support on integrating CTSOs,
career connections, cross-curricular content, and instructional
technology into CTE classrooms. 5. Collaboration and Stakeholder
Engagement: Partner with school leaders, regional academics teams,
and industry partners to strengthen instructional practices and
increase student access to career-connected learning. Build
relationships with CTE teachers to promote a culture of continuous
improvement and innovation. Serve as a thought partner in
cross-functional initiatives that promote equitable access to
high-quality CTE instruction. Other Duties: Support alignment of
CTE course materials with district and state expectations,
including support with industry based certification testing
preparation and instructional pacing. Perform other duties as
assigned to advance the mission and success of CTE programs across
KIPP Texas. Qualifications Education and Knowledge: Bachelor’s
degree required Master’s degree preferred TEA Certification - CTE
Subject Area required 5 years experience teaching with a focus on
career and technical education Knowledge of the federal career
clusters and state programs of study Knowledge of content standards
and assessments Experience developing, collaborating and monitoring
progress for special populations enrolled in CTE programs Skills:
Experience designing and facilitating relevant professional
development sessions to a variety of audiences, such as
administrators, teachers and community partners Ability to
prioritize and initiate tasks, manage time, and complete multiple
projects within tight deadlines Proven writing, verbal
communication, and presentation skills Strong organizational and
planning skills Strong analytical skills Excellent attention to
detail and a high level of accuracy is necessary Strong follow-up
