Job Description Office Administrator St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church Pflugerville, Texas Classification: Full Time, Non-Exempt Catholic Requirement: Preferred Reports to: Director of Operations and Development Ministerial Character : The Pastor is the visible principle and foundation of unity in the parish of St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church which the Bishop has entrusted to him. He makes Christ's mission present and enduring in the parish. To fulfill his mission, the Pastor employs suitable, chosen collaborators (clerics, religious, or lay people). He shares with them his mission and entrusts various responsibilities to them. Positions employed at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church in Pflugerville, Texas help to extend the ministry of the Pastor in particular ways as outlined in the job description. Therefore, the employee in this position is closely connected to and assists the Pastor in the performance of his ministry and thereby engages in ministry for the Church. Job Summary: The Office Administrator is responsible for executing general office duties to assist with the efficient operation of the parish business office. This position reports to the Director of Operations and Development. This position will operate with latitude for the use of independent judgment and initiative. Essential Job Duties: Maintain parishioner database and records. Collaborate with Pastor and Director of Operations and Development to create and implement Parish operating procedures. Work with collections count teams to ensure timely bank deposits and preparation and recording of collection reports. Liaison between church office and ministry groups regarding financial aspects of ministry activities. Manage Human Resources functions. Coordinate with volunteer groups supporting Parish operations to facilitate scheduling and address group needs. Coordinate with Maintenance Technician and Custodial staff to address campus operations issues. Purchase, receive and store office, church and all other supplies ensuring that basic supply inventories are maintained. Check/sort and respond, as instructed, to parish mail, email, and voicemail daily and forward messages to the appropriate person. Serve as a point of contact for visitors/in-person guests and telephone callers to the parish during business hours. All other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of the structure and basic teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to operate various word processing software, spreadsheets, and database programs. Ability to interact with the public in a courteous and helpful manner. Ability to work effectively with others (staff, clergy, religious, and laity). Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively. Ability to provide great care and attention to detail. Ability to meet deadlines. Ability to follow instructions in verbal or written format. Willingness to learn new systems and programs as needed. Minimum Qualifications Education and Training: High School Diploma or GED acceptable to Texas Education Agency. Experience: At least five years of business operations or related full-time work experience. Language: English (proficient in conversing, reading, and writing). Spanish (proficient in conversing, reading, and writing). Catholic Requirement: Practicing Roman Catholic in good standing preferred. Licenses and Certifications: Valid Texas driver's license. Must maintain compliance with the Diocese of Austin Ethics and Integrity in Ministry (EIM) policies throughout the employment period.
